Dwight "Chico" Jackson (Lansing)

Mr. Dwight "Chico" Jackson passed Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 68 years. He was born on July 9, 1951 to Christine Smith and Walter Lee Jackson in Mayfield, Kentucky.

Dwight and his mother left Mayfield, Kentucky in 1953 to move to Detroit, Michigan; later they moved to Lansing, Michigan. He lived his remaining life in Lansing. He attended Detroit Public School of Arts. Dwight had a love for Martial Arts. He loved his children and family, especially his Mother, the one who gave him life.

Dwight accepted Jesus Christ in his life through the mentoring of Pastor Fredrick Galloway and the Deacons of Galilee Baptist Church…God is worthy to be Praised!! Dwight will be missed and always loved by his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Tanganykia Dudley; son, Jasmond Cumble; grandchildren, Keia Yondra “Kee-Kee” Morrell, C’Yaundra “Cee-Cee” Morrell and Roderic “RJ” Morrell, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Nasir Morrell, Christopher Spears II and VerSa’e Farley; 4 sisters, Jeanette R. Smith, Roxanne C. Bibbs, Gwendolyn B. Young and Ada Nicole Smith; 2 brothers, Brandon King and Roderick Sims; aunts, Dorothy Martin and Helen Kelly; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Rudy Terrell, John Peters and Charles King.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Smith; father, Walter Lee Jackson; stepfather, Ret. Lt. Col. William A. Smith, Sr. and brother, William A. Smith, Jr.
