Ernest Sawyer was the eighth child born of nine to Eddie and Nellie Sawyer on October 4, 1965 in Birmingham, Alabama. Ernest is being honored as a son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. Ernests soul left his body suddenly to go home with the Lord to rest in peace on Friday, June 6, 2014.
Ernest was always a thinker and wanted to share his opinion. He enjoyed watching football and basketball. He had a genuine love for weightlifting and being competitive with others. Ernest was full of life, always played the body guard for his daughter, nieces and nephews. Ernest can be called upon for any job around the house and would be willing to lend a helping hand.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Nellie Mae Sawyer of Saginaw Michigan; one daughter, Shadana Jackson; one grandson, Tay both of Saginaw Michigan; two sisters, Delores A. Gayles and Billie Joyce Stribling both of Saginaw Michigan; 3 brothers, Michael, Ronald and Derrick Sawyer Sr. all of Saginaw, Michigan; one aunt, Jessie Foster of Birmingham, Alabama; one uncle, John (Gloria) Thomas of Newport News, Virginia; 4 nieces, Pamela Sawyer, Archia (Otis) Jackson Jr. and Michelle (Douglas) Coleman Jr. all of Saginaw, Michigan, and Shilena Henderson of Atlanta Georgia; 5 nephews, Ervin Sawyer and Derrick Sawyer Jr. of Saginaw Michigan, Johnny Gayles Jr. of Ann Arbor Michigan, Tito Mckinney of Sherman Oaks, California; and Germaine Helton of Atlanta, Georgia; four great nieces, Chaerra Layton, LaTia Jackson, Areanna and Raven Sawyer of Saginaw Michigan; five great nephews, Otis Jackson III, Rayvon and Trayvon Sawyer, Christian and Douglas Coleman Jr. all of Saginaw Michigan; many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Sawyer was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Sawyer, one sister, Eddie Mae Sawyer, two brothers, Charlie Jeff Sawyer and Bennie Sawyer, grandparents, Mariah and Charlie Thomas.
