Georgia Harrison

December 30, 1946 — October 12, 2019

Ms. Georgia Ann Harrison was born December 30, 1946 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Wyatt and Marie Strickland. She answered her Heavenly Father’s call to rest on Saturday, October 12, 2019. Age 72 years.

Georgia spent most of her life in Saginaw, Michigan. She attended schools in Buena Vista Township. For twenty-seven years she worked as a CNA at Frankenmuth Care Center. She retired in 2007. She was a faithful member of Kingdom Life Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Alvernis Johnson until her health declined. Not only did she enjoy her own church fellowship but she enjoyed visiting other churches with friends as well.

Georgia’s hobbies included cooking and visiting with her sister. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light in her eyes and the joy in her heart.

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend has gone from labor to reward. Despite her illness, she was able to remain her happy, bubbly self. She never complained but instead remained hopeful and prayerful. Our sweet Georgia is now at peace and at rest and we are grateful for the 72 years we were blessed with her presence.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Wyatt and Marie Strickland; brothers, Wallace Strickland, Jimmy Brown; sister, Polly Barkley; grandson, Stephenson Brown; great-grandson, Jordan Brown.

She leaves precious memories with her two daughters, Valerie Kim Williams, Crystal M. Harrison; one son, Ronald Jr. (Latavia) Williams; grandchildren, Shatara (Marcello) Foster, Shanna Gibson, Ronald III (Jaiquesha) Williams, Myvon Williams, Teonna Williams, Ceondra Williams, Jahleel Harrison, Dayshaun Harrison, Zyana Harrison, Thomas Grayson; thirty-one great-grandchildren; sister, Tanya (Ronald Rowe) Feltson; brothers, Wyatt Strickland, Wesley (Marilyn) Strickland, Walter Siler; nieces, Rose (Marc) Strickland-Thompson, Shirley Dunnaway, Yolanda (Isaac) Blackmon, Devonya (David) Brown, Pamelin Buchanan, Victoria Bell, Latonya Curry; nephews, Dominique (Ashantee) Jeffries, Demarreo (Shawana) Jeffries, Walter Siler, Jr.; two special cousins, Barbara Fleming, Della Williams; godson, Evan Ladell Strickland; sister-in-law, Barbara Brown; many other relatives and friends, including special friends Amy Cooper and Ruby Jackson.

The family would like to express special thanks to Select Specialty Hospital and nurses Harry, Jess, Latoya, and Mike, Pastor Eugene Burton from Christ Image Church, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
