James Arness Hill passed away suddenly Friday, August 21, 2020 at the age of 39 years. Lovingly known as “Roman”, he was born March 24, 1981 in Saginaw, Michigan to Roman Cochrane and DeAnna Hill.
James resided in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School and afterwards attended Delta College for two years. Roman was a seasonal worker for the Sugar Beets Company. Every year he would go around recruiting people to work for the company so they would have money in their pockets. He even went as far as carpooling so people would have a ride back and forth to work.
James enjoyed taking road trips and playing Pokemon and just being an all-around guy. He loved cooking for family and friends because he wanted everyone to know he could burn in the kitchen. He enjoyed hosting card parties and providing a safe space for gatherings so people could enjoy themselves.
Roman was just an outstanding man that wanted everyone to get along. He was very loving, caring, and sharing. He would even take people off the streets that didn’t have a place to stay. He touched the hearts of whoever he came in contact with and his memories will forever be in our hearts.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roosevelt and Charlotte Burgins, Jerry and Luella Cochrane; Larry Polk, Kelvin Watkins, Nathaniel Nelson, John Swilley, Mary Turner, Catherine Nelson, Elizabeth Jackson, Jeanette Polk, Patricia Ford and Richard Johnson.
