Jeanette Martin

Ms. Jeanette Denise Martin was born August 19, 1965 in Saginaw, Michigan to Ruben and Rosie Martin. Our beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Auntie and Friend gained her wings on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the age of 53 years.

Jeanette was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan and lived here the entirety of her life. She was a student of Saginaw Public Schools and graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class of 1984.” She was a student-athlete, playing varsity basketball for the Mighty Trojans. A woman who loved children, she worked at Emerson Elementary School for many years as a lunch aide and all the kids adored her.

Jeanette loved to smile, dance, sing, braid hair and spend time with her family. She loved all her children dearly but really enjoyed the company of her grandchildren.

On Friday, January 4, 2019, Jeanette was met with loving arms by her parents, Ruben and Rosie Martin; grandparents, David & Mable Martin, Bessie Price; sister, Annette Martin; brother, Ruben Martin, Jr. and brother-in-law, Joe C. Brown, who all preceded her in death.

She leaves to celebrate her life two daughters, Detrice Martin, DeAngela Sims; three sons, Detrick (Jasmine Greene) Martin, Dontae Martin, DeMontray Martin; grandchildren, Tiana Franklin, JaQuavion Williams, Dariana Martin, Detriona Whitley, Damarion Sims, Markel Martin, DeAsia Tisdale, Amariana Martin, Deontae Jones, Chance Rogers, Detrick Martin Jr., Piper Payton, Darrell, Arnold and Jordan Greene; three sisters, Sylvia Brown, Shirley (Leonard) Stewart, Brenda Martin; brothers, Bobby (Sharon) Martin, Kenny (Charlene) Dixon, Anthony (Charlene) Dixon; eleven nieces, Sparkle Whitehad, Erica and Eneisha Stewart, Kayniqua Mitchner, Starkeshia Castell, Dominique Anderson, Jakayla Curry, Faith Martin, TaRyah Clark; special nieces, Tantaneisha Harris, Ebony (Dallas) Jones; nephews, DeVario Castell, Bobby Brooks, Zaylen, DeQuavis and MarQuavis Martin; aunts, Gloria Martin, Gertrude Martin, Mable Scott; uncles, David Jr., Isaac, Joseph, Fred Martin; brother-in-law, Freddie Brown; special cousins, Debra Martin, Roshunda Martin; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends Ester Benson, Laura Nelson, Janice Hulett-Wicker, Willie Cameron, Serina Lawrence and Shawn Holmes.

We think about you always, we talk about you still. You have never been forgotten and you never will. We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain, to walk and guide us through our lives until we meet again. We Love You Ma!
