Lorene Rowe

February 7, 1929 — August 1, 2014

On Friday, August 1, 2014, an angel spoke and transitioned Mrs. Lorene Rowe from her labor to reward at the age of 85 years. She was born on February 7, 1929 to the Cleveland and Ossie Ming. She was of ten children born to this union.
In 1948 Lorene married her husband Mr. Jessie James Rowe. She was devoted to him unconditionally for 66 years. She devoted her love and her life to her children, David Lamar (Ava), Joyce Elaine, Shanta Shavette and Keith Donnell. Her favorite saying was I have four children; God gave me what I wanted. In 1997 Mrs. Rowe retired from the Saginaw Public School System as a bus driver after 31 years of service. Her hobbies included cooking, baking cakes, pies and preparing other favorite dishes for her grandchildren. Mrs. Rowe accepted Christ early in life and was a member of Harris Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Johnnie Barefield. She served on the usher board and remained a faithful member until her health failed her in the year 2010.
In addition to her husband and children celebrating and honoring her memories, she was blessed with her loving grandchildren, TNara NKaye Rowe, Cordarryl Weatherly, Ontayvious and Jeremy Rowe, Santana, Toriano and Deaundra Dottery; and even more blessed when she became a great-grandmother to Savion, Trudell II, Kingston, Tovanna, Sailor, ToiVonna, Kherrington, Kaiden and Kaleb; her godchildren, Tracy McKether and Zarshanta Nevitt; two brothers, Elder Rex and L.C. Ming; several nieces including a special nieces, Barbara Clemons, Edginia Foreman and Crystal Wilkerson; several nephews including a special nephew, Ryan Clemons; five sisters-in-law, Mary and Ethylene Ming, Icylene Gray, Virginia Rowe-Pearson and Mattie Langston; many other relatives and friends including her 9th Street family, Burt Street family and the Dottery family.
Mrs. Rowe was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Ossie Ming, six brothers, Wadie, Hury, Ray, Houston, T.C. and Collis, one sister, Flossie and one special niece, Virginia Ming.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Rozina Murphy and the staff at House of Hope for the meticulous care that was provided during Lorenes final days. We also would like to give special thanks to the staff at Helping Hands and Grace Hospice.
