Ada Hicks

Mrs. Ada Marie Hicks -Ralph our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt entered into her appointed time Thursday, July 29, 2010 with her family by her side. Age 71 years. She was born August 12, 1938 in Brownsville, Tennessee the youngest of seven children to J.W. and Laura L. Taylor.
Ada accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Prospect CME Methodist Church. After graduating from Carver High School in Brownsville, TN, Ada was joined in holy matrimony to Sammie Joe Hall and to this union two sons were born, Zichael Vernard Hall and Sammie J. Hall Jr. Ada and her children relocated to Saginaw, MI. She had a love for people and furthered her education in the medical field, attaining her degree in nursing. She was employed at Saginaw General Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the Black Nurses Association. She was a devoted member of Greater Free Will Baptist Church. Ada later married Willie A. Hicks who preceded her in death. She married Robert Ralph on April 18, 2009.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Sammie J. Hall Jr.; step children, Ray, Kenny and Michael Hicks; grandchildren who lovingly call her (Granny), Lakisha Burt, Markisha Hall, Sammie Joe Hall III, Sandrena (Thomas) Taylor, Angelo, Angela and Valtine Hall; six great-grandchildren, Undrereon, Moriah and Kimora Hall, Remulas Burns Jr., Ke-Shon and Dominic Burt; three brothers, Edmond (Earline) Taylor, Samuel Taylor, David (Julie) Taylor; a sister, Ruth (J.T.) Hall, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a special niece, Alvis Thompson, a god daughter, Sharmain D. Beckmon.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Laura Taylor; a son, Zichael Vernard Hall; brother, J.W. Taylor; sister, Christine
Taylor.
