Adam Hill, Iii (Lansing)

February 9, 1973 — May 6, 2021

Adam Hill III was called from his earthly tabernacle to his everlasting home on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at age 48. He was born February 9, 1973, to Angie and Adam Hill, II in Lansing, Michigan.

Adam was a lifelong resident of Lansing and attended Lansing Public Schools. As a young man, Adam accepted Christ and was baptized by the late Pastor Charles Tolbert at Galilee Baptist Church. He worked various construction jobs which included previous positions with Bornor Restoration and Roofing, and most recently, A & B Industries LLC.

Adam had a tender heart and loved his family. Humble, supportive, and giving of all he had, Adam protected his family especially his sister Deirdre (Dee Dee). Adam was well-mannered and respectful. He constantly sought wisdom from his elders, listened with patience, and sealed his understanding with a “Yes, sir/ma’am.” Adam loved fishing, cooking, and gardening. He planted flowers and collard greens for his Mother every year and looked forward to cooking and sharing with family during winter months. Adam’s genuine, joyful, and playful spirit touched every person he knew. His smile was contagious and would light up a room. His distinct laughter-filled many family gatherings with pure happiness. Adam was our favorite son, brother, father, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Cherished by so many, Adam’s presence has left an imprint on the hearts of all who knew and loved him, and there it will remain forever.

Cherishing his memory are his sons, Martavius Hill and Joshua Porter; step-daughter, Amaya Cummings; parents, Angie and Adam Hill, II; sisters, Deirdre Hill and Valanita Scott. Some of Adam’s most memorable moments were often shared with special cousins, Frank, Fred, Ashley, Angela Yellings, Angela Rhone, Brice and Toni. Adam is also survived by an abundance of other family and friends who all shared unique and irreplaceable connections; special uncles, Albert Rhone and Anthony Wilson.

Adam was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, Adam and Mary Frances Hill, and Anthony and Mary Lee Rhone.
