Aiiesha Woodley

November 3, 1994 — August 27, 2014

Aiiesha Terriana Woodley, our precious daughter, sister, granddaughter and great-granddaughter went from labor to reward on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Aiiesha battled a lengthy, 4-year illness with the grace, old soul wit and a humor that only God can give. Aiiesha obtained her high school diploma with her signature grace, wit, and steely determination. Though she was with us for only 19 years, Aiiesha touched many lives in many different ways, with her infectious smile and laughter. Life is Aiiesha, the meaning of her name and she lived an exemplary life, indeed. Her gift of height made room for her at the basketball table, where she often dominated her opponents. Her gift of support made room for her at the table as assistant basketball coach, her soft, melodic gift of singing made room for her in the Young Voices of Praise Choir, her gift of agility and rhythm made room for her at the Praise Dance team table, and her gifts of honesty, integrity, and accountability made room for her at the treasurers table, her gift for attention to detail made room for her at the table of secretary and her gift of altruism made room for at the table of tutoring youth in math and reading.
Her gift of love and mercy that triumphed over judgment, made room for her at the table of obedient daughter, worlds greatest big sister, and joyous granddaughter and great-granddaughter. Aiieshas passion for cooking made room for her at the table of many stomachs and hearts. Above all, Aiieshas unwavering acceptance of Jesus as her Lord and Savior, made room for her at Gods Table, where she now finds love and peace. We wrestle as a family in the comfort that Aiieshas absence from us is her presence with the Lord.
Aiiesha leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother, Terrie A. Woodley; sister, Charle; brother, Terry; grandparents, Terry L. Woodley, Kimberly F. Jackson-Woodley, and Tammy Trejo-Woodley; great-grandparents, Annie L. Jackson, Robert and Gladys Woodley, Leonard and Etta Ruth Crowley; uncles, Joseph Woodley, LaMarr (Jordan) Woodley, Sidney Rush and Nathaniel Trejo-Tate; aunts, Aliyah Trejo-Woodley; cousins, Erin and Nora, Gabrielle and Lorenzo; a host of great-uncles, great-aunts, and cousins; godmother, Cynthia J. Young; special friends, LeShae Miller, Breanna McAfee and Rodrick Smith.
Aiiesha was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Roosevelt Jackson; great-great grandparents, S.T. and Clarice Draine; a special great-aunt, E. Lanette Jones and a special cousin, Andre Jones.
The Woodley family would like to extend a special thank you to University of Michigan Hospital, Covenant Medical Hospital, and the office of Dr. Brian DeBeaubian.
