Alberta Hubbert passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at her residence. Age 68 years. She was born October 26, 1944 in Fayette, Alabama to Thomas Charles and Lucy Mae Hubbert (Sherron).
Alberta was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She was a teacher for 32 years with the Saginaw City School District. Alberta was best known for her extraordinary cooking skills. She was a giving and kind person who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Rudie Terry (Hubbert), Lansing, Michigan; one brother, Leroy Hubbert, Jackson, Michigan; eleven nieces, Della Brown, Escondido, California, C. Rene Starr and Jacqueline Wommack, both of Lansing, Michigan, Markieta Watson, Miramar, Florida, Jamila Bradley, Lansing, Michigan; three nephews, Odise Lee Lowery Jr., Lansing, Michigan, William David Jenkins Jr., Saginaw, Michigan; an honorary nephew, Lester Nash; six cousins, Sylvia Ann Hubbert, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Diane Martin, Alabama, William (Sonny) Hubbert and Ricky Hubbert, both of Lansing, Michigan, Josephine Scott, Fayette, Alabama, James Jones, Saginaw, Michigan; many other relatives and friends.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas C. and Lucy Mae Hubbert, grandparents, Francis and Samuel Sherron, Annie Stewart, two sisters, Vivian Lowery and Barbara McZee.
The family would like to express special thanks to Lois and Eddie Sims, Sharon and J.D. Granderson and Harold and Virginia Webb.
