Albertina Marie Jones Tina was a loving daughter, devoted wife and mother, caring sister, aunt, nurturing grandmother and faithful friend. On July 1, 2012, Tina went home to be with the Lord whom she loved with all her heart. She was born May 13, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan to Albert and Marva Hairston.
Tina led a fulfilled life. She graduated from Saginaw High School and went on to earn her license in Cosmetology from Mojo Concept Beauty Academy. Tina accepted Christ at a very young age at Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J.P. Wilson. She married Bennie Jones in February 1986 and relocated to Houston, Texas, but her heart remained at Mt. Olive.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Bennie Jones; children, Sharri Phillips, Stanganita Phillips (Erin Mitchell) Houston, Texas, Omarr (Deion) Phillips, Lawton, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren, Xavion, Tori, Demontrion, JaVonte, Shy, Angel, Eonce, Tyleasha, Shamia, DeIah, Deasia, Deiona, Dezio, Tamasj; her mother, Marva Barnett; three sisters, Dawn Sanford, Detroit, Michigan, Melanie Barnett, Saginaw, Michigan, Adriana Barnett, Garland, Texas; two brothers, Eric Barnett, Clarence McKinney; four aunts and two uncles; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends Cynthia Clay Ruth and Tammy Little.
Tina was preceded in death by her son Demontae Hairston, Albert Hairston, James Barnett and her grandparents.
