Alda Washington

Ms. Alda C. Washington was born September 6, 1965 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Rosie Lee Johnson and Hosier Ransom. She passed away Monday, September 23, 2019 at her residence in Kentwood, Michigan. Age 54 years.

Alda lived in Saginaw, Michigan most of her life. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1984.” While in Saginaw, she was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and served in various ministries at the church.

Alda was fun-loving, full of life and enjoyed music, singing and exercising. She was blessed with hands that were excellent at knitting and braiding, and she also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Our beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend has heeded the call of her Savior to come home with him and we are grateful for the gift He loaned us for 54 years.

Alda was preceded in death by her father, Hosier Ransom; grandparents, Rev. John B. and Altha Worthy, Richard and Juanita Smith.

She leaves precious memories with her three daughters, Ruth Ransom, Cherise Ransom, Jasmine Washington; one son, Tommy Ransom; mother, Rosie Lee Johnson; grandchildren, Tey’maan Kelley, Nailah Kelley, Kentae Longuemire, Bryant Day, Brandon Ransom, Calvin Ransom, Da’Zaria Windmon, Da’Zarion Windom, Darrion Ransom, Ta’sean Ransom; sisters, Armelda (Rodney) Tucker, Tawnya Ransom, Desire Belvin; brothers, Hosiea (Beverly) Ransom, Kevin (Cherry) Ransom, Troy (Lisa) Ransom; nieces, Dorethea Ransom, Zepora Harris, Latavia Ransom, Brittany Hines, Tashanna Delaney, Jasmine Waller, Vidamay Thomas, Stephanie Ransom, Marlyna Canada; nephews, Travis Ransom, Rodney Tucker, Jr., Kevin Ransom, Jr., Jason Waller, Jordan Thomas, Troy Ransom, Jr., Torry (Jessica) Ransom, Trevon Ransom; many other relatives and friends.
