Aletha L. Jones

Ms. Aletha Lorraine Jones, 54, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in Saginaw, Michigan. She was born February 12, 1970, in Saginaw to the David Orr Jones and Roberta Lee Jones.

Aletha was a member of the Saginaw High School Class of “88.” She had been employed at S.C. Johnson; her present employer was Nexteer. Aletha was a member of UAW Local 699.

Aletha loved her fur baby, Tank. She enjoyed playing Spades, shooting pool, wine tasting, going to the movies, singing, dancing, and traveling with friends and classmates. Aletha was always the life of the party; she was fun-loving, caring, and loved fashion and cooking. Most of all, Aletha loved her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one brother, David Orr Jones, Jr.; aunts, Ella Smith, and Tracey Smith; uncles, David W. Smith, Thomas L. Smith, and Robert J. (Ingrid) Smith; many loving cousins including special cousins, Tasha Smith, Tanyika Coleman, Absalom Smith, Jr. (A.J.), Jordan Smith, Nikeba Canty, and Khalil Beverly (Da Prince); godmother, C.J. Tinsley; goddaughters, Destiny and Angel Ingram; special friends, Yonetta Kendall, Toinette Ingram, Houston Roberson, Tony Young, Jason Thompson, Joyce Archibald, and Rhonda Jackson.

Aletha was preceded in death by her daughter, Re’Ann Lorraine Jones; sons, Ricky Dwayne Jones and Marquise Jones; her father, David Orr Jones; great-grandparents; grandparents, James E. (Mary) Jones, Robert L. (Delores G.) Smith, and Ellen Jones; also her uncles, James Jones, Gary Jones, and Robert L. Smith Jr.
