Alexander Andre Alston Sr., affectionately known as “Dre”, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 46 years old. He was born on Saturday, February 11, 1978, to Alexander Alston and Lillie “Linda” Davis in Lansing, Michigan.
Growing up, Dre loved to play sports and took a special liking to the football field where he excelled. He attended Lansing Everett High School and later studied HVAC at Lansing Community College.
Dre absolutely loved music, he could be heard humming a tune, making a beat or dropping a freestyle at any moment. When he was in middle school, he and his cousin recorded a rap intro under their stage names, Skrappy Doo and Skurbee Doo, that aired on Power 96.5 each night. He later released several albums as “Musso” under his own labels Diadem Entertainment and Blackball Legacy.
Dre had an incredible mind for entrepreneurship, creating multiple businesses. including “Motor Home Meals”, a catering service that he created with his mother after first giving her the idea at 10 years old. Dre was a poet, an artist, and an innovator but no titles made him prouder than being a husband and father. On September 13, 2013, he married the love of his life, Raina (Christian) Alston. They enjoyed traveling together and creating memories. Dre loved and cherished his family and was always looking for an opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
If you ever met Dre, you would certainly never forget him. He always had a smile on his face and sure to have those around him smiling too. Andre loved the Lord. He was a member of Walk in Truth Ministries where he helped to serve the community, participated in the Men’s Ministry and greatly enjoyed praise and worship.
He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Raina Alston, children, Brianna (Paul) Garrett, Stephanie (Juwan) Fletcher, Jzhyia Woods, Rayonna Christian, Ramiyah Alston, Alexander Andre Alston Jr., Adonis Alston, Resilience Alston, and Radiance Alston; grandchildren, Sa’Rieah Parker, Ja’Meir, Ju’Styce, Eri’Ahnna, Brook’Lynn, & Summer Fletcher, and Chailee Garrett; mother, Lillie (Luther) Davis; siblings, Dane Alston, Alexa Alston, Tehea Harding, LaTrina Williams, Rovonya Velasquez, Marlon Alston, Patrea Alston, and Rikki Alston; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, including; Tyrone Brown, Lamar Brown, Tronza Mosley, Shatyia Wells and friends.
Alexander Andre Alston Sr. was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Alston; his paternal grandmother, Rosa Alston, and his maternal grandmother, Idella Green.
