Alexander Buckner (Lansing)

May 21, 1925 — February 18, 2017

Alexander Buckner affectionately known as Dad, Granddaddy, Alec, and Uncle Alec, was a very kind and loving man.

Alexander was born May 21, 1925 in Elmore County in Titus Alabama to the late Mr. and Mrs. Reedy Buckner. He was born on a farm and worked there for many years. After relocating to Lansing, MI in 1952, he began a career in construction. Throughout his life, he was a hard worker and provided for his family.

He retired from Vector Construction after more than 30 years of service. Even after retirement, you would find him fishing, spending time with family and friends, but most of all watching or listening to a baseball game on the radio. It was within the last couple of years that he battled with health issues yet still maintained a smile and a good attitude.

On February 18, 2017, he transitioned at the age of 91. Alexander was preceded in death by Fannie (wife), both parents (Reedy and Annie B.), three brothers (Audrey, Clyde, and Laysander), and three sisters (Alma, Essie Maull, and Elgiedean).

Our beloved leaves one son Charles Buckner (Janice) of Lansing, MI to cherish many loving memories; four grandchildren La'Chelle Buckner and Charles Buckner II (Las Vegas, NV), Candace Buckner and Christopher Buckner (Lansing, MI), special God-daughter Chawnna Foreman (Tampa, FL), sister Margaret Mims (Lansing, MI), special nieces Linda Holt, Paula Mims, and Burndetta Holt (Lansing, MI). He was also blessed by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
