Alfredia Elliott (Lansing)

Ms. Alfredia Elliott passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 74 years. She was born August 18, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Edward and Omeria Elliott.

Alfredia received her formal education through the Missouri School District graduating from Central High School in Kansas City. She moved to Lansing, Michigan in the late 60”s having spent time in Lansing during her youth. Alfredia was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, However, more recently she was a member at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Alfredia loved to sing and was in the adult choir for many years. She is a retiree from the State of Michigan. Alfredia loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandson Dallas and cooking delicious southern soul food. She was a top-notched seamstress having spent time at Davenport School of Design, where she perfected her ability to make patterns on her own. She had a distinct eye for fashion and was known for being well put together from head to toe, sometimes in her own creations. Her favorite outing was a trip to Joann Fabrics where she could literally spend hours.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Rhonda Matlock of Lansing, Michigan, Yolanda Knight (Maurice) Sandy Sprints, Georgia; one son, Troy (Angela) Matlock of Lansing, Michigan; six grandchildren; Christopher Matlock, Charmane Bonaparte, Clera Alexander, Cayla King, Taylor Matlock, D’Andrae McIntyre; six great-grandchildren, Arianna, Rayanna, Carter, Christian, Dallas and Orlando; two sisters, Linda (Richard) Townsend, Glenda (James) Johnson both of Kansas City, Missouri; many other relatives and friends including the entire Elliott, Crudup, Osborn and Matlock families; special longtime friends, Johnnie Ruth Penix, Izetta Harris and Marie Simon.

She was preceded in death by both biological and adoptive parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Omeria Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. Rance and Ozella Osborn; grandparents, and Baby Boy Israel.
