Our beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a valiant fight with cancer on February 16, 2019 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Alice Jean (Drain) Robinson affectionately known as “AJ” was born the seventh child of ten on August 4, 1952, Saginaw, Michigan to Rev. Johnnie Drain Sr. and Mrs. Ethel Mae (Brown) Drain. Alice was a product of the Saginaw Public Schools system, graduating in 1970 and then attended classes at Delta College. Out of high school, Alice married C.L. Richardson, and from this union they were blessed with three children. She then married the love of her life, Jimmie Laverne Robinson on June 6, 1985 and from this union Jimmie L Robinson Jr. was born. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the current leadership of Pastor Delwin Tatum, Sr. Alice was amazingly musically gifted and loved being a member and director of the Praise Team and Gospel Choir. She was an astounding speaker and could really bring forth the word of God. She delivered the word on many special occasions such as Women’s Day Programs and often gave inspiring messages on Facebook. She was a gifted playwriter who loved to write poems and wrote two plays for Shiloh’s Women’s Department which were outstanding. She was previously employed by Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth and the Dow Chemical Company, Midland, Michigan. Alice has been both secretary and church clerk for over 20 years for Shiloh Baptist Church and a member of the Greeters Ministry, the Saginaw Valley District Woman’s Auxiliary Corresponding Secretary and member of the Praise Team until her health began to fail. Alice was a snazzy dresser, with an infectious smile. Her ambience will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Ethel M.
