Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law and friend passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the age of 84 years after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Alice Jean Jones (Hall) was born March 4, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan to Robert Hall & Cora Bell Lloyd. They preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, Mr. William Honeyman Jones on March 24, 1947. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2001.
Alice was a lifelong member at Bethel A.M.E. Church. She received an Associate of Arts degree from Delta College and retired from Morley Brothers. Alice was very mild, soft spoken and very talented with her crafts. At any time of the day you would catch her watching old westerns, cooking shows and sports.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter and three sons, Lloyd D. (Cathy) Jones of Norcross, Georgia, Minister Leslie F. Weaver, William H. (Roberta) Jones Sr., both of Saginaw, Michigan, and Kevin L. (Delores) Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. Her love and memories will be shared and cherished by 22 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends, Bernice Crawford, Alvita Jackson, Mamie Short, Frances Carter and her caregiver, Barbara Jenkins. She held a special place in her heart for her ex son-in-law, Leon Weaver Sr. and ex daughter-in-law, Cynthia Marie Jones.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by one son, Michael Vincent Jones, one grandson, one great granddaughter, two sisters-in-law four brothers-in-law, her favorite uncle, Larry Lloyd, several aunts and uncles, many other relatives and friends.
