Allen James Simmons

Allen James Simmons was born January 15, 2009 in Medina, New York to James Allen Simmons and Juanita Ann Burns. He returned home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the tender age of nine years.

Allen was a kid full of life. Prior to falling sick, he enjoyed watching Mickey Mouse, Fresh Beat Band and Electric Company. He loved music, playing the drums, dancing and hanging out with his Nana and Papa. He also enjoyed talking and playing with his dog Buddy.

Allen became sick June 16, 2011 with epilepsy from an undiscovered cause and fought a long, heroic and courageous battle with his declining health for the next seven years. He was a fighter, a champion, and a warrior. He secured his victory in his sleep on December 16, 2018 around 12:30 pm when God called him from labor to reward. Before his death, Allen touched many lives with his story, his battle and his presence.

Allen was greeted by his grandmother, Annie G. Burns; great-grandparents, Superintendent Allen and Roberta Paige, Tommie and Donna Sanders; aunts, Hazel Burns, Silvia Oliver; uncles, Leonard Burns, Jr., Jeff Oliver; and cousin, Jonathan P. Simmons who all preceded him in death.

He leaves to hold precious memories parents, James Allen Simmons and Juanita Ann Burns; grandparents, Larry J. Simmons, Leona Abney, Leonard Burns; four sisters, Jasmine T.M. Simmons, Lania C. Burns, Roberta P. Simmons, Jadyn C. Simmons; two brothers, Marcus Eberlein-Simmons, James Simmons Jr.; aunts, Cynthia Burns, Tesha Hardy, Clustelle Henry; uncles, Aaron Burns, Lawrence Simmons, Donald McCaleb, Larenzo Harris; a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Sheila and Henry Haibach, Rhianon and Erin Moody, Jacques McClendon, Delta Alpha Nu Sorority, Elder Charles and Dr. Elizabeth (Walton) Coleman, Suzanne Perkins, Millet Learning Center Teachers and Staff, occupational therapist Mr. Caleb, New Faith Temple, Tesha Hardy, Veronica Bond and Clean Team Staff.
