Allie (Lansing) Shearer

Allie T. Shearer, Jr. passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at Holt Senior Care in Holt, Michigan. Age 78 years. He was born April 3, 1938 to Allie T. and Ethel Shearer in Ashland, Kentucky.


Allie T. Shearer, Jr. of Lansing, Michigan, formerly of Clearwater, Florida, retired from General Motors. Prior to his illness, he attended Trinity Church in Lansing, Michigan. Allie was a Christian who loved listening to scripture and gospel music. He started playing the guitar at age 6 and was an extremely talented musician and lead singer. Allie had a love of music and was happiest when he was singing and playing his guitar. He played gospel music at many churches throughout his life. Allie enjoyed camping, hunting, and being outdoors. He was a John Wayne buff but loved all westerns.


Allie was the father of 7 children, 6 of whom will cherish his memory, Melody Shultz, Debra Cherish, Marylee Cole, Michael Shearer, John Paul (Pam) Jones of Erie, Pennsylvania, Lora Mae (Adam) Wurm of Indiana; grandfather of 21 grandchildren, Amy Lehman Lansing, Michael (Shaelyn) Wilbur, Will (Ashley) Shearer, Anthony Shearer, Jamie Shearer, Joseph (Susan) Worden, Travis (Charity) Shearer of Harrison, Michigan, Joshua (Christina) Shearer, Chris (Kimberly) Smith of Harrison, Michigan, Erica Smith, Jessica (Tony) Benavidez; Destiniee (Joshua) Hagebock, Savannah Garcia, Caleb Cole, Sarah (Thomas) Carter, Michael Shearer, Nathan (Melissa) Shearer, Justin Dean (Bianca) Jones, Randy Johnson of Indiana, Kari (Marley) Griffen of Phoenix, Arizona; 42 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Maryann Lee of Largo, Florida; 5 nieces, Sharlene, Shirley, Marie, Kathryn and Donna Kay; 9 nephews, Marvin, Jessie, Estil Ray, Danny Jo, Everett, Renee, Bobby, James and Larry along with other relatives and friends.


Allie was preceded in death by his 3 wives, Sandra Rae Shearer, Jackie Shearer and Joann Shearer; daughter, Betty Jo Ann Shearer; parents Allie T., Sr. and Ethel; sisters Lorene Hackworth and Katherine Shearer; brothers, Howard, Estel, and Daniel Shearer; and grandsons, Levi Shearer, Ryan Worden, CJ Smith, and Bernabe Smith.
