Altomese Allen

Ms. Altomese Allen passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at her residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 84 years. She was born October 12, 1937, in Fairfax, Georgia to George Allen and Leila Corney.

Altomese, known as “Meec,” spent a number of years in Florida and Philadelphia before settling in Saginaw in 1961. Mecc completed high school and attended Delta College. She attended Lewis Temple Church of God in Christ. Mecc loved the Lord with all her heart, and she enjoyed reading and talking about the Word of God. Altomese also loved to find bargains, sew, crochet, knit, and cook. She believed in helping people. Meec had a special space in her heart for family and friends and she was loved by many.

Ms. Allen leaves to cherish her memories seven children, Valerie McGraw, Cynthia Allen, Andrew Allen, William McGlothin, Charles (Mamie) Allen, Eric Allen, and Howard Allen; grandchildren, Dixon, Detravion, Demetryon, James, Deontay, Aumauria, Andrew Jr., Courtney, Esha, and London; great-great-grandchildren, Jasmin, Tristian, Christian, Khamil, and David Allen; goddaughter, Wanda Jones; many cousins; three special friends, O.B. Johnson and Henrietta Billings, and Wanda who were like daughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Allen and Corney Allen.

The Allen family would like to extend a very special thanks to Compassus nurses, Stephanie and Mary, her aide, Adreanna, social worker for Compassus Hospice, Judy Rodon. A very special thanks to goddaughter, Wanda Jones, for being there every step of the way.
