Alvia Junita Johnson

Ms. Alvia Junita Johnson passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare-Harrison. Age 73 years. Alvia was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 23, 1949, to Jack and Bennetta Johnson.


Alvia was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, and a graduate of Saginaw High School. She accepted Christ later in life and became a member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Alvia was an outgoing person. She enjoyed going to the racetrack and casino. Family events were the highlight of Alvia’s life.


She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter and one son, Mildred Johnson; and Harvey J.R. Johnson; grandchildren, Terrence Johnson, Chaisha Baskin, James Baskin III, Jamiesha Baskin, Kaneshia Baskin, Da’Monta H. Johnson, Elnello Mushatt, Harvey Johnson Jr., Harvony Franklin, Hendrix J. Johnson, and Sha'Lin Baldwin; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Georgette (Leroy) Woodhouse, Benita Anderson, Viola Johnson, and Garnetta Bell; two brothers, Howard Johnson and Earnest Johnson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Katie Beechman, Latonya Jones, Carrie Robinson, Valeria Champion, Theodore Woods, Darrly Riley, and Kenny Amos.


Alvia was preceded in death by her mother, Bennetta Johnson; father, Jack Johnson; two brothers, Willie Johnson and Johnnie Hill; one sister, Rose Lee, one daughter, Katherine Baskin; and one granddaughter, Shevonda Johnson.
