Amanda Smith (Lansing)

Mrs. Amanda Kathleen Smith passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Sparrow Health Systems Hospital in Lansing. Michigan. Age 47 years. Amanda was born August 11, 1974, in Phoenix, Arizona, to parents, Elizabeth Di Francesca & Timothy Williams.

 Amanda resided in Lansing, Michigan with her husband, Rickey Smith, Jr., and their children, Jasmin, Jayla, and Jacob. She loved taking her son for walks in the park.

She was raised and baptized as Catholic and would later attend Greater New Life Ministries Church in Lansing, Michigan.

Amanda enjoyed being active and exercising, shopping, watching movies, swimming, traveling, tanning, and coloring. 

Many would say that Amanda was a helpful, loving, caring, funny individual that loved long conversations. She will be greatly missed by everyone.

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Rickey Smith, Jr.; daughters, Jasmin Raquel Smith and Jayla Kristin Smith; son, Jacob Tyler Payton; parents, Elizabeth Di Francesca, Timothy and Kathy Williams; sisters, Stephanie Peterson of Miami, Florida and Megan Williams of Kentucky; brothers, Eric Williams of Colbert, Washington and Alexander Wallace of Portland, Oregon; nieces, Claire Williams of Colbert, Washington, Zelia Theobald, and Amya Velez; nephew, Alex Peoples; great-niece, Alex’ionna Peoples; mother and father-in-law, Dolores and Rickey Smith, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Setetra Smith of Lansing, Michigan and Nicole Williams of Colbert, Washington; and brother-in-law, Matt Peterson.

Amanda was preceded in death by her son, Christian Deon Smith and brother-in-law, Andre J. Smith.

The family would like to express special thanks to all the many friends and family for all the phone calls, text messages, monies, food, and kindness shown towards the Smiths, Williams, and Wallace families. A memorial service for Amanda will be announced in the future.
