Amir Gaines

December 26, 2016 — July 1, 2023

Amir K. Gaines was born on December 26, 2016, to Jasmine McCall in Saginaw, Michigan at Covenant Hospital. He was the youngest of four siblings and called all the shots. To know Amir you couldn't help but know his smile, and joy which would light up the room. Despite his limitations, he never knew he had them and was as bold as a lion. If you never took the time to know Amir you missed out on the most precious gift God could have ever made. Amir was a friend to all, but most of all his mother’s best friend and partner.

He traveled to many places during family vacations such as Florida, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Ohio, and Virginia; he was well-traveled. He was very adventurous and enjoyed playing outside every chance he could with his siblings and neighbors and going to the park. His favorite things were his red wagon, Paw Patrol blankets, dump trucks, and most of all sharks.

On Friday, July 1, 2023, Amir made his earthly transition. He leaves his precious memories with his loving mother, Jasmine McCall whom he adored; his loving father, Travis Swift, his four siblings, brothers, Amarious and Adonis Gaines and sisters, Samyra and Sakayla Gaines; and girlfriend, Laila; his grandmother, Sabrina “Nana” Gaines; aunts and uncles, Isha (Robert) Brown, Syaier, Ashley (Glancy), Mariah, Ollie, Reginald, Autumn; godmother, Patty Williams, and Mr. John (Vicky), Mrs. Marilyn; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends.

Amir was proceeded in death by his great-grandparents, Thomas and Ruth Gaines; great-uncle, Thomas Gaines, Jr., and paternal grandmother, Shellena Bentley.
