Andrew "Jerry" Mcintyre (Lansing)

Mr. Andrew Jerome McIntyre “Jerry” passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Sparrow Health Systems in Lansing, Michigan. Age 77 years. He was born Friday, December 14, 1945, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The son of Senia McIntyre-Wheeler and stepson of Joe Nathan Wheeler. He was the second oldest of seven children.

Jerry was a resident of Lansing, Michigan, a member and Deacon of Friendship Baptist Church and was most recently employed with NAPA Auto Parts. He was also a long tenured employee of RadioShack (Tandy) Corporation.

Jerry was an extremely loyal Michigan State University Fan. He had #TotalCommittment no matter where he was, whenever he heard “Go Green” he was happy to follow-up with “Go White!” And no matter where he went, he proudly wore his Spartan pride, especially on vacation to faraway places. His untimely passing will leave a void in the hearts of many and he will be dearly missed by all who remember him.

He is survived by his wife, Sharyn; daughter, Alycia McIntyre-Johnson; son & daughter-in-law, Ryan Aaron & Nyasha McIntyre (South Carolina); granddaughter, Jasmyne McIntyre (Arizona); three grandsons, Devin Johnson (Michigan), Noah Roberts-McIntyre & Mykah Roberts-McIntyre (both of South Carolina); sisters, Rosalind Hayslett (Georgia), Marilyn Wheeler (Georgia), Betty Wheeler (Wisconsin), Cheryl Carter-Golden (Wisconsin); brother, Curtis McIntyre (Wisconsin); sisters-in-law, Tamera Flowers (Michigan) and Leai Fluker (Arizona); brother-in-law, John Fluker (California); his beloved aunt, Mittie Keys (Michigan) as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom McIntyre.
