Andrew Stewart, Sr. (Lansing)

October 18, 1967 — May 20, 2023

Mr. Andrew Stewart, Sr. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, the Lord saw fit to call him to rest at age 55 years old. He was born on October 18, 1967, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, the son of William Sanders “Slick” and Minnie B. Stewart.

As a child, Andrew Stewart, Sr., grew up attending Sunday School at Bethlehem Temple Church on 500 East Grand River Avenue. He was a graduate of Lansing J. W. Sexton High School. Andrew was a very friendly, likeable, kindhearted, humorous person. You could always count on his presence to effortlessly bring laughter and smiles to others.

Motivated by his desire to please the Lord he would say sorry to make things right even after a moment of stubbornness.

Later years he committed his life to Christ and started his Christian journey at The Bread House Bethlehem Temple Church, 1518 South Washington, Lansing, Michigan. He was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost. He loved working in the house of God and fellowshipping with brothers and sisters in Christ. He loved spending time with his children and family. He got a great deal of joy and fulfilment when he prepared large family holiday dinners including desserts all by himself.

During his challenging life and healthy moments he strived to keep a positive outlook. One thing never wavered was his faith and trust in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved testifying about the goodness of God and the miracles the Lord had performed in his life and in the lives of others.

He was very talented in many ways. He was an outstanding professional chef. He loved the art of cooking. Over the years, he owned various businesses such as lawn care services, Sports Ware Fashions, Designer Accessories, etc. His most recent business endeavor was Father & Son BBQ. My Dad, my Brother, my Uncle, my Friend, you will be greatly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Andrew Stewart, Jr., Emmanuel Stewart, Trinitee Williams Virgil Bright, and Dominique Bright; granddaughter, Angela Loveree Stewart; sisters, and Sirpenia Stewart; brothers, William Stewart, Robert Stewart, John Stewart, and Gleen Stewart; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, cousins, and other friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Vera Stewart, Inez Stewart and Diane Stewart.

A loving father, tender and kind, what a beautiful memory you left behind. – Quute
