Mr. Andrew Tate was born October 13,1949 to David and Minnie Belle Tate in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He completed his journey on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the age of 70 years.

Andrew’s family moved to Saginaw, Michigan when he was two years old. He graduated from Saginaw High School, Class of 1968. That was the same year he was hired by Saginaw Steering Gear, where he worked over 35 years until his retirement.

Andrew enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, and of course listening to great music by his favorite artists. He enjoyed songs like “Baby Hold on to Me” by the late great Gerald Levert. He was also a member of House of Prayer Apostolic Church under the leadership of Pastor James Lewis.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, David and Minnie Belle Tate; brother, Nathaniel A. Tate; a very special great-nephew, Michael Brantley Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lula Tate; children, Andrew Williams “Pete, Dorthea Dudley, Melvin Lawrence “Corey”, Kareba Lawrence “Granny”, Seneca Tate “Black” and Demond “My baby if he get no bigger” Tate; grandchildren, Andrew Jr., Anthony Williams, Demetrius Merrill, Melvin Jr., De’Quan, De’Vontae, and Jasmine Lawrence, Tyrese, Terrell Davis, Breonna Tate, Olivia Payne, Sahinna Harper, Gabrielle Montgomery; four sisters, Mary (Leroy) Harrison, Saginaw, Michigan, Daisy Demerson. San Antonio, Texas, Minnie Godfrey, Nashville, Tennessee, Gloria Tate-Reed, Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, James (Sandra) Tate, Saginaw, Michigan, Corey Broxton, Saginaw, Michigan, Jesse Tate, Nashville, Tennessee; very special niece, Cheryl (Michael) Brantley, Atlanta, Georgia; special cousin, Kay Coates; sisters-in-law, Jo Arnold, Theresa Reid; many great-grandkids, great friends, old co-workers and respectable associates.

The family would like to express special thanks to Rashad Montgomery, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
