Ms. Angelica Velasquez passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 47 years. She was born April 28, 1974, in Lansing, Michigan to Emanuel Escobedo and Yolanda Velasquez.
Angelica remained a resident of Lansing her entire life. She attended school in the Lansing School District thru the 10th grade, then later completed her GED. Angelica was employed at the 711 Party Store for many years. She also worked for TruGreen Lawn Care Services. For many years, Angelica enjoyed working in her true passion, carpentry and being a handywoman. She loved going shopping, spending time with her grandchildren, and playing spades. The family called her a jack of all trades because there wasn’t anything that she could not do. Angelica was funny, beautiful, and outgoing. She loved fishing, cooking, Adam, the movie Norbit, and her shoes!
She leaves to cherish her memory her children; three daughters, Troyesha Nance, Tierra “TeTe” Velasquez, and Jeannica “Nay Nay” Velasquez; two sons, Florentino “Tino” (Alexis) Nance and Antwan Nance; nineteen grandchildren; her parents; three sisters, Juanita Velasquez, Josie Dwyer, and Lili (Steve) Marchlewicz; two nieces, Rochelle (Rodey) Velasquez, and LaQueisha “Queisha” Velasquez; two nephews, Chad Crook and Jamoeah “Momo” Crook; one aunt, Delphina Gonzales’ two uncles, Jose “Uncle Pie” (Debbie) Velasquez, and Eluterio “Uncle Lou” Velasquez; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Modesta Velasquez and Fiorentino Velasquez; uncle, Freddy Velasquez; lifetime friend, Beth Smith; and fiancé, Adam Hill.
