Ann Darby

December 5, 1935 — December 30, 2020

Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Darby was born December 5, 1935 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the daughter of Bill and Mildred Price. God called her name on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the age of 85 years.

Ann married David Darby and started a family shortly thereafter. Ann was a member of the House of Prayer Church. She loved reading her bible, working in her yard, baking, and cooking great meals. You could always call on her for recipes for anything. Her all-time favorite hobby was getting up every Saturday morning to go garage sale shopping. She also liked to dress up and decorate her home.

Ann’s pride and joy were her family. She, along with her husband, were the owners and operators of D &A Liquor Bar, Club Jewels and Ronald Ricco’s Bar. They taught their children early on the importance of ownership working for themselves. Ann loved her children dearly and adored all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all held a special place in her heart. She will be missed by all who loved and adored her.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, David Darby; parents, Bill and Mildred Price; brothers, William and Freeman Price, William Miller; sisters, Imogene Davis, Wanda Brook, Juanita Jones; grandson, Deontae Darby.

Ann leaves to cherish her memory nine children, Diane Darby, Theresa (Charles) Chambers, Mary Darby, Anitra (Robert) Baker, Jackie Darby, David Jr., Michael, Tyrone and William Darby; grandchildren, Tamicka Peterson, Tamara Darby, Fred Darby, Latoya Darby, Carl Peterson, Darnell Darby, Larnell Darby, Michael Taylor, Antione Darby, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Robert Darby, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Shantell Taylor; twenty-three great-grandchildren; siblings, Margaret Jackson, Mildred Valley, Margaret Ann (Andrian) King, Alfred Price; sisters-in-law, Hilda Darby, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Chanta Price; brother-in-law, Haskell (Hattie) Darby, Chattanooga, Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital CCU Staff, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
