Annette Louise Bates-Glasscoe (Lansing)

Ms. Annette Louise Bates-Glasscoe passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 60 years. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Johnny Cox and Verna Bates on May 30, 1962.

Annette aka “Lou” attended Lansing J. W. Sexton High School. She oved to cook, do crossword puzzles, play her games on her phone, and spend time with her grandkids. Her favorite shows were Wheel of Fortune, Law and Order, and The Young and The Restless. Lou loved to dance and had a beautiful smile that lit up the room. She was a strong, caring, and beautiful person, inside and out. She would speak her mind without a doubt.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her three daughters and her three sons, Angela Bates, Montrail Bates, Sharieva Bates (Adams), Decal Bates, Qwantina Bates, and Kelvin Bates; grandchildren, Déovíjon, Júdea, Sýria, NáSya, Shatrail, Jashon, Mechayla, Kershawn, Jashayla, Seyshawn, Hieshawn, Brayshawn, Tashayla, Lashawn, Lashala, QwáNina, Bréasya, and Kaliyah; great-grandchild, Willow; special aunts, Ruby Bates and Pauline Rogers; special cousin, Margurite Bates; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including her best friend, Chelia Lampkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Verna Mae Bates and Johnny Cox; siblings, Vernon Bates and Willie Mae Bates; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
