Mrs. Annie Houston was born July 14, 1946 to Jack Lewis and Annie Bell Lewis in Gallion, Alabama. She departed peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2020 in Lansing, Michigan at 74 years of age.
Annie attended Linden Academy where she completed her education. She enjoyed singing and had a beautiful voice. She was also a part of the choir. She enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball. In her free time, you could catch her at the casino. Annie had a big sense of humor and loved to laugh.
In 1967, Annie was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Frank Houston. In 1968, they moved to Lansing, Michigan where she gained employment and would eventually retire from Motor Wheel. Anyone who knew Annie knows she was a hard worker, so much that she continued to work. She was employed at Denny’s and Ellis Cleaning for another 15 years. Unfortunately, she was forced to retire due to her health in 2017.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Annie Lewis, six brothers, Nathaniel, Morris, James, Alphonso, Milton, John; two sisters, Roberta and Kathleen.
Annie leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 53 years, Frank Houston; one son, Frank Houston, Jr. of Lansing, MI; four daughters, Lula Blocker of Miami, FL., Doris Lewis, Shirley Geter, Sandra Houston, all of Lansing, MI.; Sixteen grandchildren, , eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Taylor and Lucy Williams, both of Lansing, MI; two brothers, Earnest (Carla) Lewis of Lansing, MI. and Jack (Ethel) of Detroit, MI., sisters-in-law, Affie (Joe)Parker, Parlee Balanta, Eliza Leggions of Lansing, MI., brothers-in-law, Jerome Houston, Richard (Vera) Houston, Jessie (Barbara) Houston, many nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and friends.
