Annie Lee Delaney "Ann"

Mrs. Annie L. Delaney “Ann” passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at Samaritas Senior Living. Age 90 years. She was born January 15, 1927 in Grenada, Mississippi to Dewey and Lenora Horton.

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Ann, grew up and received her education in Grenada, Mississippi, coming to Saginaw, Michigan in 1952. She was employed at Dock’s Restaurant and the family-managed Michigan Theatre Company. Ann loved shoe shopping, window shopping, and eating out at restaurants as she people-watched. She could turn a grocery store into an adventure. Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and would always say that her kids were a “joy” to her.

Ann leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Dorothy Ann Delaney-Sanders, Willie Ann “Maxine” Delaney, and Cathy Delaney; two sons, Willie Delaney, Jr. and Demetrius Jose Delaney; twelve grandchildren, Zaria Neal, Ajane’ Neal, Me’Lvin Neal, Timothy Sanders, Tanya LaShawn Delaney, Ramona Renee Neal, Unique Strong, Darryl L. Delaney, Craig F. Randle, Tasha Delaney, Tishana Delaney, Da’Asia Delaney; many great-grandchildren, including, Christopher Jaden Delaney, Tristan Alexander Delaney, Acacia Nicole Nyree Delaney, Alexus Daniels, Malachi Daniels, Naveal Randle, Yovel Randle, Joshua Jacob Randle; two sisters, Shirley Ann Beal and Jessie Lewis, Texarkana, Texas; four nieces, Sandra Horton, Yvonne Bates, Patricia Bates, Tanya Bates; four nephews, Satger Lamar Horton, Tyrone Bates, Roger Horton, Jr., Melvin Bates; cousins Hiawatha Kelly, Horton Kelly Jones; sister-in-law, Cora “FM” Bates; many other relatives and friends including special friend, Betty Millage.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Delaney; parents, Dewey and Lenora Horton; one daughter, Lenora Jean Delaney; many brothers, sisters, and in-laws; and special friends, Lerlean Phillips and Miss Haney.
