Mrs. Annie Mae Money Harris entered her final rest on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the age of 69 years, after a life well-lived. She was born in Batesville, Mississippi, on May 10, 1953, and was raised by loving parents, Edmond Turner and Yester Lee Brimage Turner.
Annie Mae attended Second Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Batesville, Mississippi, where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized. She later met Johnny Harris and they were married in 1970. The couple moved to Chicago, Illinois, where they started their family. Annie later moved to Saginaw, Michigan, where she began attending Bible Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Marvin Corr, Jr.
Annie was a fun-loving, witty, kind, and generous woman who knew no strangers. Her home was always open to all of the neighborhood children. She provided a safe space to play. Annie always said she was put on this earth to give to others, and she taught her family to follow her example. She was a prayer warrior and her prayers spoke life into those that sought her comfort. She always trusted that God would provide even in the most difficult times. Annie enjoyed being a homemaker. In her pastime she enjoyed playing card games, watching her favorite TV shows, and spending time with family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Johnny B. Harris; four daughters, Annie B. (Kevin) Taylor, Ister L. Lewis, Edna M. Harris, and Ella J. Harris (Omar); two sons, Johnny Harris Jr., and Kavester L. (Jessica) Harris, bonus daughter, Kamora Jackson; grandchildren, Johnesha, Cleopatra, Peter, Cierra, Nevaeh, Kamarri, Kamarin, Kobi, Kanaizja, Kamya, Jermaine, Kamani, Kareem, Kyrie, Alex, and Imani; four sisters, Cathalean Redmond, Annie (James) Prewitt, Ester Turner, Dorothy (Stephen) Johnson; five brothers, Reverend Lee Money, James Turner, Sherman Turner, Earnest Turner, and Thomas (Teresa) Turner; the children of Linda Scott, and the children of the late Bessie Joshua; many great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
We extend a special thanks to John Jackson whom Annie Mae adored, and who was a very special part of her life. She was happy that you were there when she needed you.
Annie Mae was preceded in death by her son, Leon Harris; brother and sister-in-law, Reverend Robert L. (Veneva) Money; sister, Edna Mae Turner; brother-in-law, John Redmond; and her parents, Edmond and Yester Lee Turner.
