Annie Ree Tuckerson

February 19, 1940 — November 30, 2018

Ms. Annie Ree Tuckerson was born February 19, 1940 in Newton, Mississippi to Otis Brown and Josephine Ratcliff. She peacefully departed this life on Friday, November 30, 2018. Age 78 years.

Annie was a true southern girl. She was born and raised in Mississippi. She possessed a certain charm and a warm, enchanting personality that truly made her a southern belle. She met Abraham Campbell in Newton. The two married and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. While in New Orleans, Annie was a member of Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Hardy. It was in New Orleans, that she began her career in the healthcare industry.

Annie lived in New Orleans until she, like many others, was displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She then brought her southern hospitality to the north when she moved to Saginaw, Michigan.

Even before Annie chose healthcare as her career choice, she was a natural caretaker. Her passion was helping people in any way she could. She took her job seriously and saw it more as ministry than work. Her earthly work has now ceased and we are confident that she has gained her crown and reward. “Well done thy good and faithful servant!”

Annie was preceded in death by her son, Mike Ratcliff; son-in-law, Dwayne Sanders; and close friend, Gladys Champion.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Deborah (Edward) Campbell-Henry, Dianna Campbell Sanders; two sons, Mitchell McMurren, Marcus (Anne) Campbell; grandchildren, Tomarra Campbell, Leah Ratcliff, Skile Sanders, Kennedy McMurren, Brian Baker, Quintin Lewis; sister-in-law, Christina Ratcliff; a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dorothy Gaines, Shirley York, Pastor Craig Tatum and New Life Church Family, Healthsource Great Lakes Unit, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
