Mr. Anthony Augusta Cannon, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 5, 2018 in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 34 years. He was born on March 28, 1983 in Saginaw, Michigan to Anthony Pruitt and Christine Cannon.

Anthony was affectionately known as ‘Lil Ant, Kunta, and The Black Man. He completed high school in New York. He was a devoted son, a loving father, a protective brother, and his brother’s keeper. To many, he was known for his undoubted loyalty and need for speed. Anthony worked as an independent truck driver and had obtained his Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL). He was passionate about African literature and history. Anthony enjoyed “deep” conversations, physical fitness, fishing, boxing, old cars, and traveling. He won the Middleweight Golden Gloves State Championship in 2004Anthony was a professional boxer from 2004-2009. Anthony was a member of Gorilla Unlimited Motorcycle Club (Detroit, Michigan and Rochester, New York). Previously, he was a member of Ruff Ryders (Rochester, New York) and Cycledelix (Atlanta, Georgia) motorcycle clubs. Anthony organized and participated in community events for kids (stunt shows and anti-bullying campaigns).

Anthony is survived by four sons, Ke’shawn, Ju’leal, Ja’mal, and Malique Cannon; his parents, Anthony Pruitt and Christine Cannon-Nelson; three sisters, Anisha (Sharmon) Noel, Audrey Pruitt, and Briana Cooper; two brothers, Andrick Pruitt, and DeMarquis Drake; stepparents, Michael Nelson and Patricia Macon-Pruitt; stepsisters and brother, Dorothy Norman, Kesha Jones, and Daniel Collins; godsister and brother, Aldean Carr, Jr. “Junie,” and LaQuita Brown; seven nieces, Corianna Harris, London Noel, Rae’nasa Macon, Samari Drake, Avonya Pruitt, Azaria, and Asia Pruitt; eight nephews, Ricardo Macon, Jr., Ray’Shon Macon, Comfort and Tarodge Sparks, Andrick Pruitt, Jr., and Demarquis Drake, Jr., Carter Noel, and Sy’kye Pruitt; grandparents, Aubrey (Tina) Pruitt; aunts, Genevieve Cannon, Shirley Louis, Bertha Redeemer, Denise Cannon, and Karen Mims; uncles, Michael, Dexter, Calvin, Andre and Jamarr Pruitt, Isiah and Pete Cannon, and Albert Watson; godmother, Carla Pinson; many special cousins, extended uncles and aunts.

Anthony was preceded in death by his brother, Ricardo Macon, grandparents, Louvonia and Willie Morris, Luella and Augusta Watson; aunts, Catherine Kelly, and Brenda Cannon; uncles, Johnny Hinds, Alvin, Calvin, Larry, and Andrew Cannon; cousins, Willie Baniel, Sandra and Helen Kelly, Mark Watson, and Erica Wilkerson.

The family of Anthony Cannon, Jr. wishes to extend our sincere thanks to boxing trainer, Jessie Addison, Saginaw Valley Community Church family, Christ Image Church family, Life Church family, Gorilla Unlimited Motorcycle Club, and his previous clubs, Ruff Ryders and Cycledelix Motorcyle Club.
