Anthony Lavern Coleman passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Age 53 years. He was born September 21, 1959 in Saginaw, Michigan to Hazel Price and Robert Coleman.
Anthony served in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Sandra Denise Glenn in 1999. He loved her unconditionally. Together they shared five children. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church. He later became a member of the historic Second Baptist Church in Bay City, Michigan under the leadership of Pastor Seth Doyle. Anthony received his GED and continued his education in the field of nursing. He was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Nursing Administrator at Colonial Village and Tendercare Nursing facilities in Midland, Michigan. Anthony was a loyal, responsible and hard-working man who loved spending time with his family and friends. Some of his favorite activities were dancing with his wife, cooking and cleaning. Gone but not forgotten, his presence will be missed by all who loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sandra Denise Coleman; two daughters, Linda Glenn and Antoinette Kelly, both of Saginaw, Michigan; two sons, Demarkcus Glenn, Saginaw, Michigan, Anthony Lavern Coleman III, Ionia Michigan; grandchildren, Anthony D. Laster Jr., Antwanae Johnson, Ashley Owens, Delmontae Brooks; parents, Robert (Christine) Coleman; four sisters, Annette Lawson, Detroit, Michigan, Gloria (Eveey) Webb, Kimberly (Lathan) Wilson and Mary Coleman, all of Saginaw, Michigan; three brothers, Cleveland Coleman, Coldwater, Michigan, Robert and Michael (Debra) Coleman, both of Saginaw, Michigan; two aunts, Erma Dennis, Saginaw, Michigan, Marjorie Conner, Shreveport, Louisiana; one uncle, Joseph Henderson; five sisters-in-law, Barbara Hill, Saginaw, Michigan, Joyce McCarroll, Atlanta, Georgia, Joanne (Bernard) Bloom, Saginaw, Michigan, Marilyn (Marvin) Dondell, Kansas City, Missouri, Mary (Victor) Trice, Lansing, Michigan; four brothers-in-law, Tommie (Melinda) Glenn, Ricky Glenn and Michael (Quangi) Glenn, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Kevin Glenn, Georgetown, Kentucky; god-daughters, Terry Marshall and Quintisha Barrett; a special god-son, Teron Simpson; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Delena Conner, Jerry Boyd, Vance Morris, Terry Marshall and Roberta Hernandez.
Anthony was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Moore, his mother, Hazel Price, one brother, Arthur Henderson, mother and father-in-law, Rosie Lee and Minister Joseph Glenn, two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Seth Doyle and the Historic Second Baptist Church family of Bay City, Michigan, Pastor Robert Corley and the Prince of Peace Baptist Church family, Ivan E. Phillips and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
