Antoine Smith

Very early in his life, Antoine Tony Smith was a blessing for his parents James H. and Donie Smith. He was their youngest son born January 20, 1959. Tony also known as "Papa" by his family and close friends, confessed Christ at an early age and loved the Lord.
After attending Saginaw Public Schools, Tony held various positions and later began work as a State of Michigan employee at the Caro Center in Caro, Michigan. He was a member of the AFSCME Local 831.
Tonys favorite pastimes included cooking and sports. He was a University of Michigan Wolverine fanatic! You could always find him watching a game of some sort. Tony had an amazing heart and a wonderful sense of humor. You could always count on him for jokes and laughter.
Tony married Holly Urband on Sweetest Day, October 21, 2000. Parting ways did not end this special bond between the two of them. Holly stepped in a took great care of Tony as his medical condition worsened in the final days and was with him when he made his transition Sunday evening, June 7, 2015.
Tony leaves to mourn his passing, his siblings, Sabrina (Victor) Brown of Saginaw, Michigan, Louise Derden of Vassar, Michigan, David Bozie Smith of Savannah, Georgia, Horace Ramon (Sheneka) Gulley, Jr., Barbara Jean Gulley and Justin Church all of Texas; nephews that were more like brothers, Gregory (Victoria) Tyson, Sr. and Roy Tyson, Jr.; a devoted niece, Vanesha Tyson all of Saginaw, Michigan; special friends, Vivian Brown, Ernest Thompson, Ray Ray Haynes and Raymond Hicks; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his loving parents, James H. and Donie Smith, Horace Gulley and Antoinette Wills, his nephew, Victor Brown Jr. and his best friend, Todd Wallace.
The family wishes to express special thanks to everyone who offered kind words, prayers and condolences.
