Our beloved brother, father, uncle, cousin, granddad and fianc, Ardell Epperson Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Age 47 years. He was born June 3, 1968 in Saginaw, Michigan to Ardell Sr. and Barbara Jean Epperson.
Ardell was a former member of Lighthouse Memorial Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Dorothy Burns. He was a loveable person who loved coaching all sports, playing Horse Shoes, going to church and spending time with his family. Ardell graduated from Saginaw High School in 1987. He attended Delta College and was employed by Head Start and Kennys Inc. Ardell was the life of the party. He had plenty jokes. His favorite sports team was Michigan State.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Barae and Alese Epperson and their mother, Amy; three sisters, Anita Epperson (Charles), Barretta Epperson and Eustacia (Walter) Ellis; two brothers, Howard Martin and Bryant (Toyah) Epperson; four nieces, Arnesha (James) Hooker, Antoria Jones, Staciara Evans and Amariyae Epperson; three nephews, Bryant Epperson Jr., Joseph Ball Jr. and Amariyon Epperson; seven aunts, Ruth (Bruce) McGlory, Catherine (Columbus) Clayton, Dorothy (Robert) Foster, Geri (Howard) Doxie, Jessie Newsom, Lavern (Mike) Davis and Lena Mae (George) Webb; four uncles, Ira Weathers Jr., Isaac (Sherry) Weathers, Isaiah (Colette) Weathers, Jerome (Dawn) Weathers; special cousin, Gregory Epperson; fiance, Sharon Pruitt; stepmother, Betty Epperson, stepdaughter, SheKeya Pruitt; three stepsons, Marlon Smith Jr., Dawayn and Antwayn Pruitt; step-granddaughter, KeyMari Smith, whom he loved dearly; special friends, Gloria Battle, Rosa Horrison, Allen Pruitt Sr., Rodney Pruitt Sr. and Dexter Pruitt; many other relatives and friends including Alonzo Betts, Elmer Curry, Pastor Delwin Tatum, Ontay Johnson, Terrance Jackson, Tommy Thomas, Terry Faulk, Timothy Moore and Ronald Cook.
Ardell Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Ardell Sr. and Barbara Jean Epperson, sister, Lafayette Martin, grandparents, Ira and Marie Weathers and Detroit and Leida Epperson, nephews, Stacy Evans Jr. and Jermaine Martin, aunt, Lenora McCulloh, uncle, Joe Epperson, cousin, Tanya Foster.
