Mrs. Aretha Eady transitioned from this life to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Aretha was born in Lambert, Mississippi on January 13, 1965, to John Nelson Nash and Addie Mae (Glover) Nash.
She attended Quitman County High School in Marks, Mississippi and graduated in 1983. After attending high school, Aretha attended Coahoma County Community College of Clarksdale, Mississippi. Aretha was united in holy matrimony to Charles Orr Eady, Sr. on December 6, 1986. She and her family later relocated to Lansing, Michigan in 1988 and began her career as a domestic engineer.
Aretha accepted Christ as her personal savior under the leadership of the late Pastor Kelly Brown of St. Matthew C.O.G.I.C., where she served faithfully in Lambert, Mississippi. She served throughout the body of Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor Larry Mitchell Trice, Sr. While attending Pentecostal Outreach C.O.G.I.C., she was ordained as an Evangelist. There she became a powerful intercessor. She taught Sunday School, assisted with the Sunshine Band and served faithfully in the youth ministry.
She also, served under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Angelene L. Trice in the role of exhorter and orator, until she made the choice to serve under Pastor Harry Chandler, Sr., at International Harvest Church in Lansing, Michigan. There she served as church administrator and continued her role of teaching, preaching and intercession. Later, Aretha became a member of Epicenter of Worship under Pastor Sean Holland. She continued to be active in doing the work of the ministry impacting all those she encountered.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Sophia Nash and Charles Orr Eady, Jr.; siblings, Ollie M. Walton of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Arthur (Jackie) Loggins of Baltimore, Maryland, Pastor Willie (Angela) Loggins of Lansing, Michigan, John (Barbara) Nash of Nashville, Tennessee, Sylvia McCoy of Lansing, Michigan, Bettye (Pastor Harry) Chandler, Sr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, Willie James (LeAyne) Nash of Lansing Michigan, Mary (Edward Lee) Nickens, Sr. of Lambert, Mississippi, Henry and (Jacqueline) Nash of Lansing, Michigan; and a host of other relatives, Godchildren and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Orr Eady Sr.; children, Whitney Eady and Joshua Eady; parents, John Nelson and Addie Mae Nash; sisters Dorothy Mae Nash and Bonnie K Nash.
