Born the first day of the new year in 1973, Arlene Carter entered the world in Cleveland, Ohio to John Carter and Beverly Ann Austin. At age five, she moved to Saginaw, Michigan along with her parents. She was a student of Saginaw Public Schools and graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class of 1992.” Arlene was an outgoing person who loved to socialize. She enjoyed walking, riding her bike, and doing housework. You could always find her cleaning or eating snacks while she listened to her favorite artist, R. Kelly. Above all, she loved her family more than anything. Her family was the best part of her and she loved them all, especially her grandchildren. Arlene was the peacemaker in her family and community. On Sunday, June 17, 2018, Arlene went to be with her Heavenly Father. We know she is safe in her Father’s arms because the bible says “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”
Arlene was preceded in death by her son, Leroy Brooks, Jr.; grandparents, Emma Williams, Walter Williams, Mary Grant; aunts, Yvette Russell, Karen Williams.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory mother, Beverly Ann (Lee Grant, Jr.) Austin; father, John Carter; daughter, Angelic (Tarkus) Marie Brooks; son, Kenneth Ray Blakely, Jr.; two grandchildren, Kamari, Le-Ariea Brooks; three sisters, Trina (Harvey) Williams, Lisa (Trovell) Grant, LaKesha (Andolyn) Grant; one brother, Larry (Sade) Lorenzo Austin, Jr.; three nieces, Ti-esha Jones, La-Shonda Jones, Journey Staffney; three nephews, Jesse (Fatima) Jones, Larry Austin III, Antonio Smith; many other relatives and friends, including companion, Kenneth Blakely, best friends Pam McDaniel, Sharon, LaRhonda Collins, and special friend Leroy Brooks, Sr.
