Arlene Lawrence

Arlene Beatrice Helen Lawrence went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at her residence with her family by her side. Age 79 years. Arlene was born on September 14, 1937 in Saginaw, Michigan to Homer and Beatrice Strickland.

Arlene attended Saginaw High School. She married the late Ephraim Lawrence on October 2, 1969. After the death of her husband, Arlene met Arthur Walker, her companion of forty-two years. In recent years, Arlene was employed at Lawrence Trucking Company and the Red Lobster until retirement. Arlene loved crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, watching her favorite TV shows, listening to Elvis Presley, and spending time with family.

Arlene is survived by her loving companion of 42 years, Arthur Walker, Saginaw, Michigan; she also leaves her children and stepchildren, Howard (Sue) Strickland, Beatrice (Terry) McGill, Margie (Bobby) Schnell, Clara Hicks and Curt Walker, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Imogene Manning, Coldwater, Michigan, Bobby and Willie Walker, Houston, Texas; daughter-in-law, Rita Strickland, son-in-law, Brian McGill; two brothers, Freddie and Howard Strickland; one sister, Margie Holmes; stepmother, Rose Ann Bedenbaugh; grandchildren, Howard Jr., Michelle (Dale), Manuel, Mike (Stephanie), Joey, Angie, Eric, Crystal, Tommie, Brian Jr., Annette (Demetrius), Lawrence, John, Beatrice, Sade (Tyrone), Pamela M, Charlotte, Takeysha (Ken), Lashonda, April, Alexander III, Vincent Sr. (Patrice), Pamela J, Marcus, Dechandra, Lakina, Tiaaniki, Shehera, Robert Jr, Zykia, Michael, James, John, Shawn, Richard and Nicole; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Ephraim Lawrence; son, Alois Schnell; daughter, Pamela Jones; granddaughter, Carrie Strickland; two grandsons, Cleotis Swilley, Jr. and Quincy Jones; great-grandson, Treyvon Walker; great-great grandson, Ka’Ron Thomas; mother, Beatrice Bedenbaugh; father, Homer Strickland; stepfather, Paul Bedenbaugh; brothers, Carl and Sonny Strickland; sister, Charlotte Regalado; son-in-law, Alexander Jones, II.
