Arnold Brookins

Mr. Arnold D. Brookins “Deuce” passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare Cooper in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 51 Years. Arnold was born April 16, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois, to Curtis and Joann Brookins.


Arnold was a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1988,” He attended Delta College, and was owner and operator of two businesses, Parlay Records and Entertainment, and MaMa’s Kitchen. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. Arnold loved sports; his favorite teams were the Pittsburg Steelers and the Golden State Warriors. Arnold also enjoyed his family, traveling and partying with the SHS C/O '88.


Arnold leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Tiffany Brookins, Saginaw, Michigan; his children, Shakala Williams (Justin Garnett Sr.), Precious and Shina Sanders, Demetrious Kennedy, Jayla and Taniesha Sherley and Xavier Brookins; grandchildren, Lamar Williams, Justin Garnett Jr., Zakia Williams-Sherley, and Baby Nuggett; father, Curtis Brookins Sr.; sisters, Yolanda, Carolyn, India  Mona, Pat, Jeanette, Meshon, Tracy, and Mary; brothers, Brian and Teon Brookins, Tony and Joseph Hargrow, Curtis Jr., Dante (Temchisa) Turner, Darrell (Taletha) Sherley, Patrieace (Jennie) Thompson, Eric (Sherre) Floyd, Terry (Valarie) Reed, and Reginald Porterfield; a host of nieces and nephews; aunts, Ada, Wanda, Sandra, Pam, Mary, Carrie, Christell, Ella, and Minnie; uncles, Anthony Guiden, and Freddie Lee Brookins; cousins, Jacob, Julia, Amp, Tiffany, Rabbi, Charles, Tysvanna, Angie and Shaquita; mother-in-law, Dawn Sanders; many other relatives and friends including all our neighbors; the Smith family; Class of 88; Roland, Mike, the Hunt, Taylor, Babers and Menzies families; Marcey White, Clover Davenport, and  Johnny Mae Taylor.


Arnold was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert D. Brookins, Lillie Mae Brookins, Mary Blount and Fats Williams; mothers, Joann Brookins and JoElla Brookins; brother, Telly Brookins; uncles, James E., Willie S. and Barnett Blount; aunts, Shirley Collins, Mary Porter, Denise Ruth Blount; niece, Jamaica Campbell, Toya Galvin; and godmother, Jackie Gibson.
