Arrit Ruben Ball, Sr.

February 21, 1955 — November 19, 2018

Our beloved Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend, Mr. Arrit Ruben Ball, Sr. was born February 21, 1955 in Louisville, Mississippi to Andrew Webb Ball and Ida Ruth Carter-Ball. He passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at the age of 63 years.

Arrit graduated from Louisville High School and later moved to Saginaw, Michigan. It was in Saginaw that he became a licensed mechanic. He loved working on cars and he was great at it. He definitely had The Midas Touch.

Besides working on cars, Arrit loved to fish and cook. He was known for his fried chicken and he loved potato salad. Above all, his favorite thing was racecars, and he was affectionately known as “Speed or Speedy.”

Arrit was a joy to be around. He was full of life and personality. He was a man’s man. He was a provider, protector, strong leader and friend. His absence among his family will be felt and forever missed. We still do not understand why this had to happen to you, but we are proud to say you are our dad, the greatest man we ever knew.

Arrit was preceded in death by his son, Jermaine Peoples; brother, Allen Ball; favorite nephew, Joseph Ball, Sr.; niece, Antione Scott; mother-in-law, Elsie Luck; sister-in-law, Demetria Ball.

He leaves to hold on to his memory wife, Marcella Luck-Ball, Summerville, South Carolina; three daughters, Maria (Dan) Whitfield, Louisville, Mississippi, Quest (Barry) Pickens, Fort Bend, Indiana, Erica Ball, Saginaw, Michigan; three sons, Arrit Jr. (Tracy) Ball, Arcadia, California, Keno Nelson, Saginaw, Michigan, Arrit Ball, Saginaw, Michigan; stepdaughter, Tamika Luck-Grandy; five sisters, Myrtis Scott, Alma (Corsemore) Collier, Saginaw, Michigan, Ruby (Willie) Edmond, Angie Ball, Louisville, Mississippi, DiKettie (Dominic) Jordan, Olive Branch, Mississippi; three brothers, Ray Charles Ball, Steve (Patricia) Ball, Louisville, Mississippi, Kelvin Ball, Horn Lake, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Charlene Ball; brother-in-law, Aaron Scott; goddaughter, Xenovia Ball; loving companion, Demetria Wilkins; many grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
