A Time to be Born
Arthur Hughes, Jr. was born April 26, 1941 in Natalbany, Louisiana to Arthur Sr. and Irene Hughes. He expired on March 31, 2019 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper, with family and friends by his side.

A Time to Grow
During his teen years, he relocated to Gary, Indiana and was raised by his grandmother. He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.

A Time to Love
Arthur was joined in holy matrimony to Rosalyn Starks Hughes, who preceded him in death. To this union, two children were born, Arthur III and Kim. After moving to Saginaw, Michigan, he met his soulmate, Lois Murphy, and the two were together until he went to sleep. When Arthur became ill, she became his caretaker and took care of him until the end.

A Time to Work
Arthur was self-employed as a truck driver and the owner of Hughes Heating and Cooling. He loved doing maintenance and repair work and God blessed his hands to be successful at it.

A Time to Mourn
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving companion, Lois Murphy; daughters, Kim (Leonard) Arnold, Portage, Indiana, Chelane and Eliza Washington, Saginaw, Michigan, Kim Murphy, Denishia (Jerry) Abbott; sons, Arthur III (Pam) Hughes, Atlanta, Georgia, Donovan Hughes, Saginaw, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren; sisters, Lillie Mae Cooper, Hilda (Lawrence) Ruffin, Maxine (Josh) Chapple, Birmingham, Alabama; brother, Robert (Gloria) Hughes; aunt, Corine Wright, Hammond, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Booker Gibson, Saginaw, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including best friend, Robert Hill, Gary Indiana, special cousin, Eugene Wright, Kalamazoo, Michigan, and special nephew, David Ruffin, Saginaw, Michigan.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Sr. and Irene Hughes; wife, Rosalyn Starks Hughes; son, James Clarence; brother, Larry Hughes; nephew, Robert LaBee; two nieces, Fredia Brooks and Catherine LaBee.
