Mr. Artis Develle Bothuel PeeWee passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at his residence. Age 56 years. He was born June 22, 1957 in Saginaw, Michigan to Floyd Willie Bender and Marilyn Jean Cheathem.
Artis was a former student of Vassar High School. He was employed at Cark Pine Lumberyard in Vassar, Michigan. Artis loved the Lord and enjoyed attending service at Holy Spirit Revival under the leadership of Pastor Earl Fisher. PeeWee loved to play pool with friends. He was a comedian who loved to laugh and make others laugh. PeeWee enjoyed eating and spending time with his family. He had a special love for his mother. He would always call her to say he had a special gift of some sort for her which always made her smile. PeeWees smile and laughter will be forever in our hearts and his presence will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memory his mother, Marilyn Jean Cheathem; six sisters, Eva Ware of Orlando, Florida, Lucy Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Debra Bridgewater, Constance Wallace, Carolyn (Irie) Sample and Tushya (Nicknory) Cheathem-Subula, all of Saginaw, Michigan; one brother, Anthony Mario Bender of Saginaw, Michigan; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two sisters-in-law, Carmulita Bender, Mattie Darby-Bender; special aunt, Jessie Mae Moncrief; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Ellen Louise Randolph and Cedell Liddell; his very special friend, Little Bit.
Artis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eva Moncrief, Nathaniel Howard and Hattie Howard-Harper, father, Floyd Willie Bender, stepfather, J.D. Cheathem, three brothers, Lorenzo Tracy Bender, Floyd Willie Bender Jr. "Fat Daddy" and Terry Lee Bender, two nephews, JDeangelo Cheathem and Tamarus Lorenzo Bender, one brother-in-law, Amos Bridgewater.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the Harper family, Pastor David Howard and the Holy Mission COGIC family, Superintendent Harold Jones and the Greater Ephesians COGIC family, Pastor Earl Fisher and the Holy Spirit Revival Ministries family.
