Ashley Michelle Johnson (Lansing)

Ms. Ashley Michelle Johnson departed from us and went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 35 years. She was born October 14, 1982 to Louise Holbert and Michael D. Johnson Sr. in Lansing, Michigan.

Ashley was extremely intelligent; she attended Lansing Eastern High School and received her General Education Diploma in 2006. She loved her family; she loved spending time and doing activities with her two children. Ashley enjoyed and encouraged family gatherings; where she loved playing spades and showing her comical side, her jokes could have an entire room crying tears of joy and stomachs hurting from laughter. Ashley also loved shopping, especially garage selling with her Mom. She loved getting dressed up. Ashley had a love for food; from cooking it to eating it. She was extremely knowledgeable about the restaurant scenes in many different cities around the world. Ashley also loved music of all genres. She had a love for animals, dogs and elephants in particular. Many people knew and love Ashley. She was an excellent friend to have in your corner. She was extremely loyal and honest, whether you wanted to hear the truth or not; she was like a counselor who had excellent advice for anyone who needed it and was also a great listener for friends and family who just needed an ear.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her two loving children, O’Ryan Bowers and Makayla Johnson; her loving and dedicated mother, Louise Holbert; grandmother, Dorothy Holbert of Lansing; six brothers, Michael Warren of Florida, Michael Johnson Jr. and De’Ondray Holbert of Lansing, Markus (Jessica) Holbert of North Carolina, Ricardo (Nikayla) Dabney and Christopher Dabney of Lansing; three sisters, April Simmons of Tennessee, Nichole Linsey and Rickesha Dabney of Lansing; aunts, Betty Brisco and Sharon Holbert of Lansing; uncles, Joe Hill, Daryl Johnson and Oliver Orr of Lansing; many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friend including special cousin/ best-friend, Erika Singleton of Lansing; special cousin, Anthony Holbert; Godchildren, Kasey and Kyrsten Holbert and Davon Street all of Lansing; special niece, Tawanna Simmons; and special friends NaKiesha Taylor, Jeffery Brown and Calvin “Boobie” Harris all of Lansing.

Ashley was preceded in death by her father, Michael D. Johnson Sr.; brother, Dennis Warren; paternal grandparents, Rosie Lee and Mozena Johnson; cousin, Brandon Holbert; and uncles, Edward Holbert and Johnny Holbert.
