Augustus Alabaraonye (Lansing)

Mr. Augustus Alabaraonye passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 62 years. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria on June 11th, 1959, the son of Mr. John Alabaraonye and Mrs. Catherina Alabaraonye.

Augustus’ parents Mr. John Alabaraonye & Mrs. Catherina Alabaraonye died when he was a young child. After his parent’s demise, he went to live with his favorite uncle & aunt, Mr. Gabriel & Mrs. Felicia Alabaraonye. Augustus was blessed with three loving siblings Friday, Chiadiakaobi, and Christina. God also blessed him with a nephew, Nnwachukwu.

He migrated to the United States in 1979 at the age of 20 years old and attended Lansing Community College and Central Michigan University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Augustus worked for the State of Michigan - BIOPORT, and for Meijer Warehouse, for a combined service of 30 plus years. Augustus was a man full of charisma who will go out of his way to help family and friends, we will miss him dearly.

He lives to cherish his memory his nephew, Nnwachukwu; eight cousins who were brothers and sisters to him, Ernest, Nneka, Timothy, Chinyere, Emeka, Polycarp, Kelechi & Chidi; other relatives and friends including special friends, Mr. Demaco Chappell and his mother, Ms. Ola Chappell.

Augustus was preceded in death by his parents Mr. John Alabaraonye & Mrs. Catherina Alabaraonye; three siblings, Friday, Chiadiakaobi, and Christina; niece, Felicia; uncle, Gabriel, and cousin, Uchenna.
