Baby Jibri Thomas

Baby Jibri Amari Thomas was born February 25, 2019 to Shomari Thomas, Sr. and Brittany Lunnie. God called his name on Saturday, September 28, 2019 after seven brief months.

Jibri was a happy baby. He knew his parents’ voices and every time he heard them, he instantly began smiling. He was feisty and a busy body, always doing something with his hands, like pulling out his cords and keeping the nurses on their toes.

Jibri was a fighter. He was strong and determined to be here. He brought great joy to his parents, grandparents and siblings, especially his twin sister Jordynn. Seven months was not enough time but we rest assured knowing that seven is the number for completion and Jibri is healthy, whole and complete in the arms of Jesus.

Baby Jibri was greeted at heaven’s gates by his great-grandmother, Pearl Bradley, who preceded him in death.

He leaves precious memories with his parents, Shomari Thomas, Sr. and Brittany Lunnie; twin sister Jordynn Thomas, Imani McCaw; brothers, Shomari Thomas, Jr., Isaiah McCaw; grandparents, Rochelle Hill, Torrance Lunnie, Gordon and Audrey Thomas; aunt, Kiara Carpenter; uncle, Imen Hill; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The parents of Baby Jibri Thomas would like to express special thanks to the great-grandparents of Jibri, Fred and Rochelle Gilmer, grandmothers Rochelle Hill and Audrey Thomas, Covenant Healthcare nurses and doctors, University of Michigan Hospital nurses and doctors, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
