Barbara Amos

September 18, 1958 — March 30, 2020

Barbara Ann Amos was born September 18, 1958 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Ardell and Gladys Amos. She left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Monday, March 30, 2020.

Barbara attended Saginaw Public Schools and was a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1976.” She was a faithful member of Greater Solid Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ernest L. Reed.

In February of 1986, Barbara married Travis Prince. The two later separated and she spent the rest of her days with her loving companion, John Henry Cooper, until his passing in 2010.

Barbara enjoyed bingo and going to the casino. She enjoyed her family and loved family gatherings. She especially enjoyed playing cards with her sisters and cooking. Her love, care, comfort and zest for life will truly be missed.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ardell and Gladys Amos; grandsons, LaQuavis Cooper, E’Zaveeon Ray; great-granddaughter, My’Oni Johnson; grandparents, Henry and Bessie Johnson; nephews, Steven and Barnell Amos; former spouse, Travis Prince; longtime companion, John Cooper; mother-in-law, Lizzie Cooper.

She leaves precious memories with three children, LaQuitia (Joshua) Cooper, John (Angelic) Cooper, Darnell (Tori) Prince; grandchildren, LaShayla, Rayshawn Cooper, William Bibbs, Jr., Jonathan Ray, Darnell II, Davin, Damaris and Delainee Prince, Leon III, Nea Laury, Jurnee, Saudi, Phillip Morris; great-grandson, Khalil Cooper; sisters, Johnnie, Wardell, Dyan, Sharlene, Dorothy, Mary Amos, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Catherine Short, Bogalusa, Louisiana; brothers, J.T. Houston, R.L., Barney; nieces, Tanya, Lynette, Tamika, April and Shamorrow Amos, RaMonda, Kenya Kindle, DaSkyra Hood; nephews, Reginald, Kenneth, DeWayne Amos, Ernest Moore III; aunts, Catherine Stewart, Louise Bell, Linda Green, marie and Margaret Johnson; uncle, Landus Washington; sisters-in-law, Patricia, Ruth Liddell, Dorothy Cooper, Catherine Young, Saginaw, Michigan, Cora Liddell, Phoenix, Arizona; brothers-in-law, Johnny Liddell, Wilson, William Cooper, Saginaw, Michigan; many other relatives and friends, including special friends Wanda Blacksher, Freddie Williams, Risa West.
