Barbara Jean (Hazelwood) Craion went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the age of 62 years. She was born on May 26, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan to Henry and Bertha Hazelwood.
Barbara was a member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church. She received her associate degree from Delta College and later earning her Bachelor of Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University. Barbara was a symbol of strength and an overcomer of many obstacles. She was a generous woman who allowed her faith to lead her along lifes journey. She always showed compassion and opened her home and heart to others. She enjoyed being in the presence of family, friends, and her pets. She will be truly missed by all.
She leaves not to mourn, but rather rejoice in having known and loved her: her children, Jeanean (Keith) Brown of Saginaw, Michigan, Averial (Tina) Craion of Gulfport, Mississippi, Mallory (Prince) Robertson of Champaign, Illinois, and her step-daughter, Arlene Chism of Detroit, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Justin and Justis Brown, and Jazmonique Jones of Saginaw, Michigan, Jeremiah and Isaiah Robertson of Champaign, Illinois, Keyona and Jamil Legier of Gulfport, Mississippi, and Chanice Chism of Detroit, Michigan; three great-grandchildren, Justin Brown, Jr., Journee Brown, and Heaven Hill-Jones of Saginaw, Michigan; her siblings, Terry (John) Ordway Blankenship of Lewiston, Idaho, Howard (Shari) Northrup of Saginaw, Michigan, Gene (Jackie) Ordway of Houghton Lake, Michigan; one aunt, Carol Gonzalez of Freeland, Michigan; three sisters-in-law, Janet Pruitt of Saginaw, Michigan, Sylvia and Charla Taylor of New Orleans, Louisiana; one brother-in-law, Carl Taylor, Trotwood, Ohio; goddaughter, Kelli Bond; many other relatives and friends including Diane Bond, Mildred Montgomery, and Sally Tyler of Saginaw, Michigan.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bertha Hazelwood, as well as a special father figure, George Northrup; her best friends, Shirley Demery and Iris Perkins; her former husband, Marvin Craion, and in-laws, Sharon Surles and Allen Craion.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Medilodge of Frankenmuth.
